ST. CATHARINES, Ontario, Sept. 03, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The News Forum, Canada’s independent national news network dedicated to providing balanced perspectives and fostering informed public discussion, is pleased to announce the exclusive broadcast premiere of the new documentary Education Reform: Lessons from England.
The 25-minute documentary will air nationwide on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ET/MT (7:00 p.m. PT), exclusively on The News Forum.
Produced by SecondStreet.org Productions, the documentary examines a series of education reforms implemented in England that contributed to improved student achievement, particularly among disadvantaged children. The documentary explores the bipartisan support behind many of the reforms and considers whether similar approaches could help address educational challenges in Canada.
Filmed in England in May 2026, the documentary features interviews with Labour and Conservative politicians, school officials, and education experts who provide firsthand perspectives on the development, implementation, and outcomes of the reforms.
“One of our goals at The News Forum is to bring thoughtful and informative programming to Canadians on issues that affect our country’s future,” said Tore Stautland, CEO of The News Forum. “Education Reform: Lessons from England offers viewers an opportunity to learn about alternative policy approaches and the experiences of another country that has pursued significant educational change.”
“Many Canadians have concerns about the direction of public education and are interested in exploring new ideas,” said Colin Craig, Host of the weekly program On Second Street. “This documentary examines reforms that have attracted attention internationally and highlights lessons that may be valuable for policymakers, educators, and families across Canada.”
SecondStreet.org is also the producer of On Second Street, a current affairs program that airs on The News Forum and explores public policy issues affecting Canadians.
Viewers can watch Education Reform: Lessons from England on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. ET/MT (7:00 p.m. PT), exclusively on The News Forum.
