SpaceXAI and Cursor launched Grok Bot on Tuesday, an early-beta line of AI “teammates” that sign into a user’s existing apps and websites, carry multi-step tasks to completion, and hand work back finished — or ask for approval when a judgment call is needed.
The app is available now on macOS, Windows, iOS, and Linux to SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra, and Cursor Premium Teams subscribers. It lands in an agent market where the race is shifting from producing the best answer to actually finishing work — a field Anthropic and OpenAI are also racing to define.
Most AI assistants today stop at a draft. They produce summaries, recommendations, or outlines, and leave the user to carry the output into the CRM, the inbox, or the project tool by hand. Grok Bot is built to close that last mile — the gap between a suggestion and a completed task sitting in the right system.
That is Grok Bot’s core pitch: closing the last 10% of work by carrying an AI-generated suggestion through to a completed task inside the tool where the result belongs.
A Persistent Cloud Computer That Never Clocks Out
Each user gets a persistent cloud computer where Bots operate with their own browser, filesystem, and terminal. Unlike conventional assistants that reset between sessions, Grok Bot keeps login states, files, and context across tasks. Bots navigate apps and websites through direct interface interaction — the technique known as computer use — so they can work inside platforms with no formal API, the way a human employee would. Close the laptop at the end of the day and the Bots keep going — processing invoices, drafting outreach, and filing tickets.
A Team of Specialists, Not a Single Assistant
Users can run multiple Bots in parallel, each on a distinct job:
- Sales Bots research accounts overnight, score contacts, and queue personalized outreach drafts for morning approval.
- Operations Bots process invoices from Gmail, onboard new hires, and keep CRM records clean.
- Engineering Bots reproduce bugs, file tickets, and hand fixes to debugging Bots — multi-step work coordinated without manual relay.
Bots message each other, share thread context, and coordinate in group chats, pulling the user in only for judgment calls. For repeatable work, a user shows a Bot the process once; it saves the steps as a routine and runs them independently, absorbing corrections over time.
SpaceXAI says Grok Bot began as an internal prototype before opening to subscribers; its pitch to early users is that the experience feels “like bringing on a coworker, no automations to set up.”
For enterprise buyers, the early beta leaves three questions to close before handing over credentials: how logins are stored, how data stays isolated between Bots, and where the security boundary of a shared cloud computer actually sits. SpaceXAI’s own documentation offers a candid marker on the last point, describing Bot screens as “work surfaces, not separate security boundaries.” That distinction is the thing to watch as the platform matures.
Teams weighing an early run can keep the checklist short: confirm the credential-storage and data-isolation model, pick one low-risk repeatable workflow and watch it end to end, and agree on approval gates before a Bot acts on your behalf. Those checks — and the beta’s other rough edges — are collected in a running reference at grok-bot.org, alongside a plain-language look at what Grok Bot can and can’t yet automate reliably.
Grok Bot enters early beta on August 11, 2026. Cursor Ultra runs $200 per month; Cursor Premium Teams is $120 per seat per month. Desktop apps cover macOS, Windows, and Linux, with iOS available now and Android on the way. Enterprise access is waitlisted at x.ai/bot.
